MIRBOO NORTH
Mirboo North is lucky to have many and varied artists and creatives who call this area home. It means that there are frequently arts activities to engage with, from exhibitions to workshops to performances, as well as beautiful creations to be purchased.
The Mirboo North ArtSpace is a not-for-profit community organisation which is open all year at 81 Ridgway, Wednesday to Sunday, and sells the beautiful wares of some 40 local artists and artisans.
A visit to Mirboo North in winter would give you the opportunity to engage with Mirboo North’s largest annual arts event, the Mirboo North Art Show, which is a well renowned fixture on the Creative Gippsland calendar, and Winterfest, a fabulous and accessible celebration of all things winter.
Mirboo North Arts Inc, another volunteer community organisation, hosts touring musicians and bands, as well as performances in Mirboo North with funding through Regional Arts Victoria, including the annual St Kilda Short Film Festival Tour.
Culturally, the region around Mirboo North has strong ties to Italy, as there were many families who emigrated to the area from Italy after World War II. The Mirboo North Italian Festa, which take place each year on the second Sunday in February, celebrates the history and traditions, engaging everyone in the best of Italian culture, food, music and entertainment through a free family friendly event.
